Electrify Italy. A research conducted by EST@EnergyCenter, Enel FND and MIT

The study, result of the successful cooperation between EST@Energy Center of Politecnico di Torino, Enel Foundation and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, explores a possible pathway to implement a new energy paradigm in Italy based on “the electricity triangle“, a paradigm based on clean generation by renewable sources, electrification of final uses, and electricity exchange through efficient smart grids, closes the loop of clean energy and efficient consumption. This leads to improvements in energy, environment, economy and social performances, and boosts the share of renewable in final consumption.
The book Electrify Italy is being printed and an online version will be soon available.

RES-PLAT, the new interactive web platform

Res-Plat is the new interactive web platform developed by EST@EnergyCenter of Politecnico di Torino in collaboration with SR-M for comparative energy, environmental and financial impact assessment of investments in wind and solar installation.
The platform, that has already been defined and is being implemented, will provide an integrated geo-referenced database solution and implement mathematical models and user interface aiming at analyzing environmental impacts and analyzing economic and energy of renewable sources.

EST@EnergyCenter has taken part in the COVID’s debate

In the framework of the collaboration with ENEA, the Energy Security Transition lab@EnergyCenter has taken part in the debate on the Covid-19 emergency analysing the immediate effects on the national energy system.
With this article, the authors want to provide an initial assessment and estimate of the effects of the ongoing crisis on energy consumption and emissions in the first half of 2020.

Energy Community – We talked about that on Report@Rai3

Nowadays, a fully autonomous, sustainable and efficient energy system is a consolidated strategic objective.
On Report, a brief contribution from Energy Center and EST@EnergyCenter of Turin on the Energy Community, a new paradigm of production and consumption with various potential benefits – both for the final consumers and for the Country – which range from the reduction of expenditure on supply, optimization of the energy withdrawal profile from the grid, improvement of the quality and reliability of the supply, up to the best integration of renewable sources and optimization of the overall load profile.

ENEA Quarterly Report 2020 – I Trimester

The first ENEA Quarterly Report 2020 on the Italian energy system has been published.
The analysis aims to elaborate the data related to the energy sector, providing an overall picture of the system’s evolution starting from a transparent methodology and examining the factors that characterize it to assess the trends related to the three dimensions of energy policy: decarbonisation, energy security and cost – collectively defined as “energy trilemma”.
This edition is enriched by the analysis of the Covid-19 effects on the Italian energy system developed by the Energy Security Transition Lab @ Energy Center.

Transizione energetica e dintorni.

Ettore Bompard.

L’appuntamento è Venerdì 24 Aprile alle ore 10.00, gratuitamente su GoToWebinar!
